I have an integer say 30 and i want to make it -30 (minus thirty) but i dont wanna use this :-
int a = 30;
a = a * (-1);
I wanna make use of bit operators .. can any one please help me on this. The code i need is in c#.NET.
Is it so that using the multiplication method (with -1) dosent make any difference, as the final assembly code (CLI) generated for this code will be efficient and take care of this ??

Does anyone know of a good web site or book for individuals learning how to program in Visual C# using the .NET framework? Specifically, I am looking for tutorials that explain classes, methods, and objects. I am a student with no formal programming experience and would greatly appreciate your help - thanks!!!

She was on a once a week treatment for 3 months to see if the damage could be reversed and in her case, she was improving. If your friend is on treatment, time will tell if it will work for her.

I have had 2 c-sections and a hernia surgery. I have gained almost 20 lbs. since my last c-section (2003). I am always on the go, but I just can't seem to lose the weight. I am a fulltime college student and I am also a server . Both those are lots of cardio. I don't eat the best b/c I am also busy and I have 3 kids. I recently joined a gym and I am ready to make a lifestyle change. I will be graduating from college in 3 more semesters and I am so ready to lose some weight. My arms and legs aren't that fat, it is mostly my belly and love handles. Yes, I have to pooch. Is there any excercise ot diet excercise tips that anyone can give me to help me get a good jumpstart on this? I know that cradio is the most important thing to do to lose weight?? I have O.C.D. and have beentaking Luvox 100mg twice a day for about 5yrs.The problem is somethings are better but now I feel like im out of control.Nothing is ever good enough for me.It does not matter how hard the kids or my wife try im never happy.I like things a certain way and if its not exact I cant control how it makes me feel.I try hard but sometimes just blow my mouth off and it hurts them.I have never got physical,but I know verbal is just as bad.I expect things to be how I want all the time.I want to feel satisfied,I never do.I have rituals that I have to do daily or I feel like im going nuts.I cant get things off my mind unless I do them.Please any advice would help.Even someone just to talk to about this.My email is porkchophaynes2007@yahoo.com if you can help.

I am doing my final year project,which consists of writing a software program to detect shapes and thus objects in images using C#.net.
I named the project as Robo-Vista. I am new to C#.
My approach for the project is as follows:
we need to train the system with the image of the shape to be identified using neural network and then provide the sytem with the image from which the trained shape is to be recognised.
The deadlines for my project are near. The recognition part is ok but still i do not have a neural net to train the images. thus i request you to help me out with such kind of neural net.

There is a decent article on CodeProject regarding the use of Neural Networks for Optical Character Recognition. This information can probably assist your efforts in image recognition in general.

In April of 2006, I went to Washington D.C for People to People program. It was a blast! I got the money by just sending letters to the family. But that was 6th grade. I am currently in 8th grade, and all 8th grade students have the option to go to Washington D.C, NYC, and Philadelphia with World Strides for $1,998. Even though it was A LOT more last time I know it's going to be another struggle to raise money. I am going to send letters but just in case I need backup plans. Any Ideas?

Reply:Talk to the people who are organizing the trip and see if they are arranging fundraisers - most schools who do trips give you a chance to earn money by selling stuff, washing cars, and any number of other fundraisers. People usually react well to these.
If you are doing this toward raising money, then your family will probably be more willing to help with the letters - another option is to ask people to give you money toward the trip instead of holiday or birthday presents.

My fathers p.c. had a virus and has cleared all his treasured photos. How can he recover them . HELP PLEASE !!
When my Fathers p.c closed down due to a virus, we think, he lost all the family photos and cannot find a way to retrieve them. I assume that they must be on the hard drive somewhere but we have no idea how to start to try and retrieve them. If anybody can help with this I would be most grateful.

files that were removed from the recycle bin or directly deleted from
within Windows, and we were also able to recover photos from a Flash
card that had been formatted. Upon start, you can scan for all files
that may be recovered and also limit the results by entering a search
term or extension. In addition, it also provides the option to wipe
the
found files beyond simple recovery. The program is small and
standalone, it does not require installation and can also run from a
Floppy disk. Restoration works with FAT and NTFS as well as digital
cameras cards.

Once he downloads the new pic, see what file it is being stored in. The pics are probably in his "my documents" folder, or the camera may have its own set of file folders where the pics are going. You can also do a seach for the photos using the search function in the start menu (if you know what they were named). Hope this helps. Otherwise you can go to "my computer" open up all the drives one at a time and manually check each folder to see if you can find them.

I've recently found out that C-Diff Colitis is chronic. Is there a specific diet to help manage this monster?
My husband was recently hospitalized for C-Diff Colitis from too strong an antibiotic (clindomyacin). He's had a massive heart attack with a stent implant, a completely replaced hip, a defibrillator implant, and uses a CPAP for sleep apnea. He say this C-Diff is worse than any of the other stuff that's happened to him! He's just miserable. He really has no appetite, but if there was a specific diet that would help with the diarhea, I'm sure I could get him to eat. I'm making sure he stays hydrated with Gatorade and Pedialyte. He has a low-grade temperature (99.4) and sleeps a lot. Will we be prisoners in our own home all summer with this?

Pseudomembranous colitis is an infection of the colon often, but not always, caused by the bacterium Clostridium difficile. Still, the expression "C. diff colitis" is used almost interchangeably with the more proper term of pseudomembranous colitis. The illness is characterized by offensive-smelling diarrhea, fever, and abdominal pain. It can be severe, causing toxic megacolon, or even fatal.
The use of broad-spectrum antibiotics such as clindamycin and cephalosporins causes the normal bacterial flora of the bowel to be altered. In particular, when the antibiotic kills off other, competing bacteria in the intestine, any bacteria remaining will have less competition for space and nutrients there. The net effect is to permit much more extensive growth than normal of certain bacteria. Clostridium difficile is one such type of bacteria. In addition to proliferating in the bowel, the C. diff also elaborates a toxin. It is this toxin that is responsible for the diarrhea which characterizes pseudomembranous colitis.
The disease is usually treated with metronidazole (400 mg every 8 hourly). Oral vancomycin (125 mg every 6 hourly) is an alternative but, due to its expense, is often reserved for those patients who have experienced a relapse after a course of metronidazole (a common outcome). Vancomycin treatment also presents the risk of the development of vancomycin resistant enterococcus, and its use for the treatment of C. Difficile infection is now questioned by some institutions. Occasionally metronidazole has been associated with the development of pseudomembranous colitis. In these cases metronidazole is still an effective treatment, since the cause of the colitis is not the antibiotic, but rather the change in bacterial flora from a previous round of antibiotics.
Adjunctive therapy may include cholestyramine, a bile acid resin that can be used to bind C. difficile toxin.
Saccharomyces boulardii (a yeast) has been shown in one small study of 124 patient to reduce the recurrence rate of pseudomembranous colitis.McFarland LV, Surawicz CM, Greenberg RN, et al. (1994). "A randomized placebo-controlled trial of Saccharomyces boulardii in combination with standard antibiotics for Clostridium difficile disease". JAMA 271 (24): 1913–18. PMID 8201735. A number of mechanisms have been proposed to explain this effect.
Fecal bacteriotherapy, a procedure related to probiotic research, has been suggested as an alternative cure for the disease. It involves infusion of bacterial flora acquired from the feces of a healthy donor in an attempt to repair the bacterial imbalance responsible for the recurring nature of the infection.
Anecdotal evidence suggests kefir can help treat pseudomembranous colitis.If antibiotics do not control the infection the patient may require a colectomy (removal of the colon) for treatment of the colitis.
Once the diagnosis of pseudomembranous colitis is made, your doctor will stop the antibiotic that was associated with development of the disorder. Sometimes, this may be enough to resolve your condition, or at least ease signs such as diarrhea. Once you begin treatment for pseudomembranous colitis, signs and symptoms may begin to improve within a few days, and they often resolve completely within two weeks.
To treat more severe cases of pseudomembranous colitis, your doctor will choose from among a number of medications, particularly antibiotics other than the one associated with your illness.

2001 Eclipse A/C Cycles Very quick on and off!! HELP!! Please!?
I have a 2001 Eclipse. When I turned on my a/c the belt started to squeal as the clutch tried to engage twice and then the clutch stopped trying to engage. The light in my car would flash orange and green.
I figured the compressor was siege and had a repair shop replace the compressor and clutch as a unit. The system was flushed, oil was added, system was vacuumed and charged, and dryer (filter) was replaced.
Now, the new (compressor) clutch will continuously try to engage over and over again after I turn it on. The load on the engine seems normal as if I just turned it on, but it tries to engage every few SECONDS.
No fault light noted, and air is cold.
I understand it is suppose to turn on and off when needed, but this is cycle is right away, over and over again.

Nothing against the shop who did the ac work. It sounds like the system is over charged. And the compressor does not know what to do with the high amount of pressure. AC unit will cicle with the amount the pressure and fridgeraint they have in the system. So I would suggest to take the car to another dealer, or repair shop. Maybe the guages were off. Maybe the temp was too low, and maybe someone was not paying attention. Somtimes the system will also cycle like that if there is air in the system. I can not trully say unless I have it hooked to a gauge. But Take it somewhere else. Nothing against who did the work, like I said. But every can make a mistake.
I figured the compressor was siege and had a repair shop replace the compressor and clutch as a unit. The system was flushed, oil was added, system was vacuumed and charged, and dryer (filter) was replaced.
Now, the new (compressor) clutch will continuously try to engage over and over again after I turn it on. The load on the engine seems normal as if I just turned it on, but it tries to engage every few SECONDS.
No fault light noted, and air is cold.
I understand it is suppose to turn on and off when needed, but this is cycle is right away, over and over again.
Help PLEASE!!!

The A/C only blows through the top and bottom vents. it will not come out of the dash vents. I seem to have no control over the vent selection. I replaced the heater and a/c control panel and it did not solve the problem. I am looking for a diagram so I can chase the problem down and determine if it is a vacuum or electrical problem. ok i had a c section 4 weeks ago got out of the hospital then did a follow up with my doctor and i had a uterine infection so i had to be put back into the hospital i was on antibiotics and then they let me out i feel way better but i have sharp sharp pains in my back sometimes and also i noticed that when i was seeing my doctor she always checked under my arm for something well under my arm i have this bump/knot like thing and its sore to the touch i thought it might have been from the picc line i had in the hospital but i am starting to get one under the other arm... is any of this normal after having a baby or a c section and what is it and how do i fix it please help!

The lumps underneath your arm and above your breast is due the engorgement of your breasts. I recommend pumping your breasts and massaging the lumps to break them up. This will regulate as soon as your body gets used to producing the amount of milk that your child needs unless of course you have decided not to breastfeed then it is your body's coping mechanism for all the excess milk storing in your breast. If that is the case then do not pump as it will encourage milk production. instead just gently massage your breasts in the shower.
C-sections suck and do have pain, but you shouldn't still be dealing with that much pain at 4 weeks.

They get swollen and painful when you have an infection. Go back to see your doctor and ask her exactly what is wrong. If you don't get answers you understand, get another opinion-quickly!

Dont worry about it, and the pain you feel in your back will remain for a few months and thats from the epidural and the pregnancy. Just be easy on your back and yourself

I have to right click on my drives ( i have two hard disks) and click explore in order to view my files. I just cant double click it. If I do, it tells me that " C:\ is not a valid win 32 application" Can anyone help? Thanks. Also, I already run an antivirus on my PC (AVG), and removed all viruses.

I have a "C" drive that everything I install is on, and I have an E drive (2gb) and an F drive (1gb) that is one drive partitioned into the 2 (E%26amp;F) and I want to put my printer/scanner/copier, as well as my webcam onto one of the other drives (E or F) so I can free up space on "C" drive because it's dangerously low on space.
I am not sure if my explanation is enough for you to be able to help (I'm guessing thru my explanation) but the easy version is I have 3gb of space on two drives (one 3gb partitioned) and I can't put anything onto them because I don't know how or what do do to accomplish this.

Reply:as far as i know, each computer is different. my computer had a D drive, and a C drive, my c drive is called local disk, its an NTFS system, and my D drive is, Fat32, i use windows xp sp2. if u want to free up sapce, u can get norton partition magic, and partition the e drive, or F drive, then u will have room for your printer and etc!

Next, do a search using windows search from the start button, specifying files that are larger than say 100000 kb. See if you can get rid of any of these monsters. Consider moving programs as a last resort
Another "trick" you can play is to move a large directory "en mass" to another drive and use the subst dos command to make the system "think" its stillon the C: drive

Can anyone help i have reinstalled windows xp home. Sometimes while on the net the pc shuts down and resets itself. When i reinstalled windows it went onto d drive and c drive. How do i delete one of these drives. Also how do i wipe my pc clean so i can start afresh and install windows xp professional.

i presume when you say windows has gone on c and d drive that one of the windows is a previous installation
by the sounds of it you are quite right when saying a fresh install is the answer
to delete one of these drives you need to re-install windows again(i presume you know all about that) and someway into installation you get a option to delete and create partitions,when this appears you need to delete the d drive and then delete c drive ,this will leave you with one drive on unallocated space ,you need to then create one primary partition in that space,and then press enter to install windows xp pro into that partiiton
this is the part of windows xp that i really like,as its good when you want to create a partition to use as a ghost drive o back up location,i used to use 2 partitions in windows 98 and i used the d drive for a ghost image of 98,so every so often i would do what you call a "roll back",very good when your system starts to behave odd.
this method is also avalible with xp,and with many software programs such as norton ghost,cosmi back up manager
however ,i now use a external hard drive for back ups,and i fell the same as you,one drive is much better
so i recommend you use windows xp set up to re-arrange the drive partitions and then install on c
one tip;;take your time when creating and deleting partitons as one mistake can be a few hours lost

locate the D:/ drive , hard drive

after re-installation,
do the above again EXCEPT reconnect the power and ribbon to the D:/ drive
close the case and reboot.
then reformat the D:/ drive hard drive
there you have it. if you don't believe you can do this i would suggest getting assistance.

Reply:There are lots ways of doing this. It would help to know the type of game you are trying to implement, BJ, Poker, Old Maid, etc. Ask yourself, how are the cards dealt in real life? Then, realize this isn't real life, and you can simulate stuff. Since you already have shuffled, the order really isn't important. For example, in Old Maid where you deal all the cards out,. just divide the cards by the number of players and use a for loop to give out the first fraction and another to give next, etc. There is no real need to alternate. If it is like Black Jack and you have the deck in an array. Have a variable keep track of the number of the cards and always take from the back or highest number of the deck using the card count variable as the indexer of the array. For most part, you are just copying the cards to the player's hand. Remember, this is not real life. All you have do is mark or keep track of a removed card, not actually delete it.

Reply:There are lots ways of doing this. It would help to know the type of game you are trying to implement, BJ, Poker, Old Maid, etc. Ask yourself, how are the cards dealt in real life? Then, realize this isn't real life, and you can simulate stuff. Since you already have shuffled, the order really isn't important. For example, in Old Maid where you deal all the cards out,. just divide the cards by the number of players and use a for loop to give out the first fraction and another to give next, etc. There is no real need to alternate. If it is like Black Jack and you have the deck in an array. Have a variable keep track of the number of the cards and always take from the back or highest number of the deck using the card count variable as the indexer of the array. For most part, you are just copying the cards to the player's hand. Remember, this is not real life. All you have do is mark or keep track of a removed card, not actually delete it.
Reply:Store all the cards in a Stack once they are shuffled. Then you can pop() them off the top and wella you got it.

PLEASE help me with my C-drive?
I do nothing other than surf the internet, go in and out of different chat rooms from time time and email friends back and forth. What is taking up so much space on my c-drive, I wonder? if its been a few months since you ran it then your fuel lines and gas tank are probably cloged and gummed up. replace all your fuel lines and exhaust back presure lines. if you have a fuel filter then toss it... its most likely clogged too.
check the glow plug and make sure it still glows red/yellow hot. if it doesn't then you have to replace the plug. charge up your glow starter too...

Reply:Best bet is to set the carb back to the factory specs and start from there. If no changes have been made to the needle settings than this is prob not the problem. This is assuming you still have the factory paperwork.
Nitros can be finicky. Also nitro fuel is very easilly contaminated. Make sure to store out of direct sunlight and always keep the lid on the bottle or can. It has a tendency to attract moisture easily.
Another thing to check would be the glow plug. Remove it and insert into the glow ignitor. It should glow bright and all the way to the tip of the plug. If it is still the original plug then it might be time for a new one. I would try changing the plug first then move on to carb settings.

if its been a few months since you ran it then your fuel lines and gas tank are probably cloged and gummed up. replace all your fuel lines and exhaust back presure lines. if you have a fuel filter then toss it... its most likely clogged too.
check the glow plug and make sure it still glows red/yellow hot. if it doesn't then you have to replace the plug. charge up your glow starter too...
Reply:Well I Dont Have 1 But I mIght Be Able To Help......First Try Replacing Betteries In Car And Remote Starter.........Bleed The Fuel From The Rc Car.......Ummmm..If Your Confident....Try Taking It Apart And Checking It Out....(Should Be Fairly Easy...Im Pretty Good At Mechanics..)Also, You Don't Have To Buy A New One...Just Take It Back And Either Trade In The Electric Starter..Or You Can ASk Them To Fix It For You(They'll Probably Kepp it For A Few Hours/Day Or Two) and Just Pay Like 30-80$$........Or Just Ask For Assistance At The Store And If They Can't Help...Then Try Schucks...They Can Usually Fix Anything...BTW......If You Have Someone Take It In A Fix It At A Store.....Make Sure You Ask For The Receipt To Know Exactly What Your Paying You For.....Cause They Might Be Ripping You Off a Couple Valuable Bucks....HOPE I WAS OF SOME HELP!
Reply:Best bet is to set the carb back to the factory specs and start from there. If no changes have been made to the needle settings than this is prob not the problem. This is assuming you still have the factory paperwork.
Nitros can be finicky. Also nitro fuel is very easilly contaminated. Make sure to store out of direct sunlight and always keep the lid on the bottle or can. It has a tendency to attract moisture easily.
Another thing to check would be the glow plug. Remove it and insert into the glow ignitor. It should glow bright and all the way to the tip of the plug. If it is still the original plug then it might be time for a new one. I would try changing the plug first then move on to carb settings.
