Hi all, my wife had a C-section and we had a beautiful healthy daughter named Rianna on December 11th. The recovery for my wife was coming along fine, however underneath the cut my wife felt a 1 inch bump. She talked to the doctor and the doc said that it can be a blood clot. However, it's been many weeks now and the clot has not gone down.
Last week the doctor recommended to get a MRI or Cat Scan done to see what it really is, and to make sure it's not a Hernia. We have not gotten that done yet, since the cost of it with the type of medical insurance we have is going to be high. We want to be sure before getting it done.
For the last 2-3 days my wife has started to spot/bleed again. The reason I am on here writing all this is because just now she went to the bathroom and she had dark black blood on a tissue to show me. Is that of concern? What can that be? Anyone else experience anything similar to what my wife has been going through?
Help would be great...
Post C-Section Problems, Please Help :(?
I had a c-section sept 12th. Had the same bump. 99% of the time it is a scar tissue. As far as the bleeding and clots...it's normal. as long as the clots are no bigger then the size of a lemon. I had huge clots and freaked out. Called the dr. and he said it is normal. Is her incesion bright red...puss coming out of it, or is it still real tender to the touch. If so go to the ER. Otherwise..she's just getting her first period more then likely and taking longer to heal then normal. Hope this helps
Reply:I had a c-section on Nov. 29th. I am fully healed now but I had bumps like you describe and they said it was just scar tissue and nothing to worry about. It goes away on it's own. It is normal to bleed (even clots) for a few weeks. If your wife is not in pain, I don't see how it could be a hernia. Have you tried going on Web Md or another medical site to search for more info?
Reply:I would love to say a few choice words about our lovely insurance coverage... but I won't!
She needs to get it looked at. I know you were hoping someone on here experienced the same thing or not... but maybe you could set up a payment plan with them. Better safe than sorry.. Has she called the doc back?? Good luck with this!
Reply:I had a lump like that under my scar, not really a bump but it felt like a hard thick caterpillar under there (Hard to explain) My doctor told me it was just scar tissue. It is still there a little bit (three years later) but I am fine. I had bleeding off and on for a bit but I don't remember it being a black colour. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
Reply:Did they put her on blood thinners? That is what they generally do for a clot to get it to disolve. (I had a DVT when I was 26 weeks pregnant) Also the generally do an ultrasound to determine a clot.
If i were you I would take your wife to the ER to have this looked at. I honestly don't know what this might be.
Reply:Go to the ER...
They will send you a bill but they will not errest you for not paying it on time. The ER will do a cat scan..or MRI. Maybe both. She sounds serious.
Reply:I've had two c-sections and never experienced such a bump. It might still be normal to bleed though if she recently changed her activity - increased it. I'd recommend getting the medical test - it would help put your mind at ease.
