C:\Windows\System32\Shell32.dl... illegal system relocation when trying to install Sony Vegas 7. Please Help!!!

When trying to install Sony Vegas 7 I keep getting an error box which says:

"The system DLL user32.dll was relocated in memory. The application will not run properly. The relocation occurred because the DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\SHELL32.dll occupied an address range reserved for windows system DLLs. The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL.”

I googled this and got a couple of forums directing me to some windows hot-fixes. I installed the following two:

KB925902

KB935448

After installation no change had happened so i tried restarting my computer. Again and again i get the same error message and it is EXTREMELY annoying. Please help me!!!

Reply:Windows is notorious for cryptic error messages.

Consider this an excellent time to recognize that

your operating system is defective. I recommend replacing

it with one of:

http://fedora.redhat.com

http://www.opensuse.org

http://www.debian.org

http://www.ubuntu.org

http://www.slackware.org

http://www.freebsd.org

http://www.opensolaris.org

Any of these will be more reliable, less susceptible to

viri, uses your hardware more efficiently, and they're

all free.
Reply:Make sure there is nothing running the background that could interrupt the install such as AV Programs.

Go to Start %26gt; Run

Type MSCONFIG, Hit Enter

Click the Startup tab, Click Disbale All.
