Will extra vitamin C help?

I've heard vitamin C is good for your immune system. I take a multivitimin every day, but will taking extra vitamin C help improve my immune system even more, or will the multivitamin do all that can be done?

Will extra vitamin C help?
Actually, taking mega-doses of Vitamin C has never been proven to make any difference at all. Vitamin C is not stored in the body, so any amount you take over what is needed by your body will simply pass through your system in your urine. Save your money! Just take your multi-vitamin!
Reply:Vitamin C is water soluble, therefore any excess that your body doesn't need at the moment of digestion is washed away in urine. Vitamin C has NO direct influence on immune system...what it can do is aid in the absorption of Zinc which has been proven to boost immune system. Taking vitamin C with Zinc can boost immune system.
Reply:vitamin c is great i take it and i noticed a huge difference in my health i have not really gotten sick at all this year. it really helps!!!!!! i totally say you should take it!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:the multi vitamin usually provides 100% daily recommended dose.....however fruit and veg containing it wud probably be better eg oranges, lemons, green leafy veg
Reply:Vitamin C is the best gift from God! If you take too much, it just simply came out of your body. You need total of 500 mg, 3 times a day.
